LS6 block sounds nice, but without the rest of the LS6 stuff...hehe.

Didn't EVERYTHING go to the LS6 block once they started producing it?

Nope. GM had enough leftover LS1 blocks to cover almost all except the last few months of production. My '02 still had the LS1 block.

Pretty off guessing, but by that account I might have the LS6 block, because mine was one of the later LE's produced, being #2876 of some 3100.

What are the differences in the LS1 and LS6 blocks?

I'll check it when I go home next.

look for the two bullseyes as seen here.

if you have them it's an LS1 stop looking if it looks like this it might be an LS6 check the numbers on the back of the block on the drivers side.

What's the alloy difference?

The bay-to-bay breathing windows went from being machined in to being cast in place. These are important to power... they're worth over 25 hp on a Northstar.

not positive of the differences will try to find some of that stuff it was a long time sense this was talked about on the camaro sites. I do remember it had something to do with the Mexican plant that the LS6 was cast in
