I made my own fiberglass battery box; it took two hours of work and ~$25 in materials. Cables are about $45 - $80. Copper is pretty expensive now..
What? I was helping out setting up stuff at the new shop on Saturday. WCF is still in business, they are just going through a move of the shop. They moved to a new, larger location in Tehachapi. They're just getting everything set up.CincinnatiFiero wrote:I heard WCF finally went out of buisness, I kinda beefed with them too lol

I made one using his measurments. Worked like a charm.

A shop that has machines in it, like a machine shop....CincinnatiFiero wrote:Alright thanks, what kind of shop should I look for?
Someone who can measure, cut, break, hole-punch, drill, prep, TIG weld, hole-saw, finish prep, add hardware....

OR....
You can make one out of fiberglass, which I myself am not sold on the resin's reliability over time with battery acid/fumes.

Why not leave the battery in back?
Save the money to put towards the 3800 :thumbleft:
I see the advantage of a front-mount battery (Weight distribution/CoG, ease of maintenance), but I don't see it as a worthwhile mod for a street car. And you can still easily swap engines with the battery in back. In fact it's easier. With the budget you're on, and the goals you have, I suggest you narrow your mind to the one mod that will make the biggest difference--The engine swap. Once that's done you can play around with these high cost/low return modifications. Doing them now won't do any good, because 40mpg Civics will still be walking away from you.
