Yeah I realize that now, but it have to come off like a 4T60 or 4T65, the fiero auto tulip won't fit the bearings from the bigger 5speed axle.

Later stick cars like Berettas with the intermediate shaft use a tripot on the right side that has female splines.

Okay, just to let you guys know what I am doing. My Drivers Auto fiero axle does just pop in on the drivers side, but now that the motor is mounted further to the left hopefully I can fit the GTP axle on the passenger side and I'd like to run the thicker 5speed drivers axle on the drivers side, but I need the auto tulip to do it.

Ed Morad wants... $35 for JUST THE TULIP! LOL! I am pissed though because I had all the CV tulips and junked the ones I didn't think I needed. I think for now I will use a stock Fiero auto drivers axle. A stock L67, with a 3.4 later on shouldn't break it, I just wanted to see if I couldn't overkill for a few extra bucks.

Can someone help me on CV bands? I found the kind I like on this website, but I am in LA so I don't have a CV to measure on. I wanted to order them tonight or tomorrow so they arrive at my house next week when I get back so I can put them on my car. I dunno if I will order them through that shady site or have my pep boys friend order them, since they do keystone. Could someone measure a fiero CV boot and tell me which one I will need? The 5speed Fiero/GTP boot is the same size as the auto boot I am almost positive. Just the insides of the tulips are different, which doesn't affect the boot. That site is a bit iffy, and looking again I doubt I will buy from them, but I still am going to need a general size idea for when I order from someone else.

Does anyone know if a +38mm offset will work on my car? My friend has some enkei rims off his srt4 that he wants to sell to me. The tires are 215/50/17 (Falken 512) and 225/45/17 (Kumho ecsta) rear. Should they fit a stock 87 suspension?

Okay so it turns out two of the tires are plugged, but he was driving on them. Are plugs safe? Another friend said to have the tires dismounted and to patch them from the inside. Is this a really stupid idea? I don't have the money to replace the tires right now. So is patching or plugging safe or should I keep looking?

Plugs aren't terrible. If they are holding air, they should be fine.

How much is he selling the setup for?

Plugs are fine. My father swears by patching on the inside, but I did a plug on a car around the same time he did the patch inside on a different tire.

I won. His patch leaked, my plug didnt.

For will and jinx

Post by CincinnatiFiero »

Well since I started the swap, KOI, Smyth, and Autozone could not come up with those CV bands. I went to Advance today and $2.59 later I had 3 of the fucking mystery bands that Autozone said didn't exist.

Sweet so the bands do not fit the GTP inner boot! It fit on the drivers side axle which uses fiero parts. No one sells a band big enough to do the GTP boot. I can buy a re-booting kit for $18 which includes a bigger band but I don't need a new boot so I guess I need to find some online, they cannot order bands at the stores.

Also, its time to make a better coolant line setup for my car. The 3800 has the two coolant lines under the alternator. One I used as my remote fill and the other the heater line went to. Mine worked but wasn't pretty. I see Ryan uses a nice aluminum 90 in the port that runs to the heater line. Where can I get that, and what size do I need? Also whats a cheap way to make my remote fill prettier? I was just using a straight piece of heater hose and then a hose plug clamped in the end. I don't need the nicest stuff as the budget is tight, so spectre or some BS is fine.

I need to buy those, and how do I go about installing them?

The brass fittings can be found anywhere really, but as for the pretty aluminum ones, try Summit.

As for the coolant fill, would this work for you? I've got it leftover from my swap. It's a radiator fill from an older motorcylce. Uses common heater hose sizes, cap is good.

Hmmm A-aron that looks like it could work but I went to Lowes today and came up with some other ideas. I think I can make that Earl's 90 with some brass pipe fittings but I don't have the drill bits or the taps to put it together so I am dropping them off to a friend tuesday and we'll see what he comes up with.
This is what I got
Image

Got the banded axle in the drivers side, but for some reason the passenger male spline axle does not want to go in, I switched to a different tripot that wasn't all rusty, but the rusty one fit, so I need to look at them and see if the splines are different
Image

Got the poly in
Image

Now I had my coils moved and I had some shitty accel cut to fit which were ugly and arcing, so I got a set of factory style wires, but I needed to put my coils *near* the stock location. The coils won't clear the trunk bracket well so I made this bar to move the coils over the valve cover. Just some metal sleeves to space it, a redrilled piece of metal I got at lowes for $2, and some bolts, don't worry I will get bolts that are the same length, this was just mocking it up with bolts we had in the warehouse

Spent a lot of the day looming up my wires and fixing the wiring, the Regal wiring harness did not have a trans pin F for the reverse lights like a GTP does, so I went to the junkyard, got a connector, took the pins from it, and re-pinned the regal connector so hopefully I will have reverse lights now.

Some pics of the wiring harness, looks decent too me. I KNOW THE GREEN EVAP TUBE HAS TO GO! I am being a cheap ass and trying to find one used, the dealer one is like $25 and its on back-order.

Heres my wiring issue though, I swear to god my C500 block has a B1 pin, which according to the two wiring things I have doesn't exist. Anyone know what it goes too?

Where is a good place to buy a flat piece of steel to make a flat trunk? We had this new mustang door skin laying around the shop that I was going to cut up to make my trunk but it will have a ridge in it, however it is free.

Here is my drivers side mount, I never showed a pic of it.

Hmm. I should have computer failure more often; things are far more exciting after being away for a while. Good rim choice. Those tires look beat. Nice phone.

He had the 205 ecsta's on the rear and the 215 falkens up front. Its the falken's that are worn, but they aren't bald. What I am going to do is go ahead and buy them, put the 205's on the back and the 215s up front( like he had them, I've seen them on the car and you can't tell). And when I have a spare $200 put the widest set of Sumitomo's on front wheels and then put them on the back and put the ecsta's on the front. The ecsta's should have a decent life on the front of the car. Hopefully I can squeeze like a 225 or 235 on the rims.

Well its time to address the exhaust again, I'd like to switch to duals and I have access to a bunch of free brand new "turbo mufflers" (full bodied glass pack), one of the guys at our shop was going to become an exhaust shop so he bought the inventory of stock and performance mufflers and a tube bender (not mandrel) then bailed, so he has a bunch of 2.5" in/out mufflers. I think I want to run two of them and have dual tips. I need an exhaust T, not a Y, but a T. I need 3" in, and dual 2.5" out, anyone know where I can get one, or can someone fab one up? I am paying of course.

The only way I can think I could feasably DIY it is to take a 3" piece and crush it to an oval slightly, take a straight peice of 2.5" tubing and cut out an oval in the side of it and weld up the 3", it would be a rather abrupt turn though for the exhaust gases. Do you think that would kill too much HP?
