Just make sure them flowing locks are out of that compartment when someone keys the motor.

Duplicolor car touch up paint in a spray can. If I recall correctly, the intake is "Toreador Red", and valve covers are "Garnet Red". They're both very metallic.

I used that toreador red on my quad 4's IDI cover, it's a nice color.

didn't the Greeks did the end of their "pony tails" (or whatever the terminology is for a dude) in tar to keep them together? I think the modern equivalent would be epoxy resin.
