My new wing arrived
It's a 59" carbon fiber wing. It's huge compared to the wing I had on my other skyline. I believe it was 53", this one is 6" wider. Should suit the widebody better.
I may end up selling this wing, there is another wing I want and I was told by the seller that they expect wider versions to be available in December. If it turns out that they get them in I will sell this wing and install the other one.
If I keep this wing I will be reshaping the end pieces. Not a fan of the sharp angles. I will get it closer to how my old wing looked.

Small updates. I decided to go with a fuel cell instead of using the stock tank with a surge tank. Bought a 20 gallon sumped and foam filled fuel cell which hould work as well as a surge tank as far as fuel starvation goes. I will have to cut a hole in the floor of the trunk but that isn't a big deal.

The car being done before mine is just about complete, here are some pics of the process.
Cur a strip out of the rear fender to move the wheel well higher and push the body in. This kit was made to work on a GTS and a GTR so this is required to fit the kit over the gtr's wide fenders and allow clearance for the tires.
Take the wheel well and bend it up over the fender.
Seal the crap out of it
Rear all mounted and riveted into place
They have the front mounted. Only side skirts to go then it's my turn.
20-30mm wheel spacers needed depending on your rim size and offset. My 18x9.5" rims will likely need a 20mm spacer, we'll see.
I will be having them glass ofer the gas filler door, I won't need it with the fuel cell and it will make it much cleaner.
In the end I should end up with this.
For those of you that know a thing or 2 about suspension setups. How will a 20mm spacer affect handling? By that I mean will it affect roll center?
I imagine it won't affect it much but it's been on the back of my mind. This will be my race car afterall.

It won't. The wider track will slightly decrease weight transfer. Spacers have a much larger effect on steering geometry than any camber/roll center geometry.crzyone wrote:For those of you that know a thing or 2 about suspension setups. They may have, there is no inbetween pics that I've seen. After alittle driving dirt will make its way there anyways.
I've thought about sealing the kit to the body and glassing in certain areas but I like the idea of easily replacing body parts as needed. I'm turning my car into a track car so it's likely to suffer a little body damage now and then.
I can always try drifting if I pull the AWD fuse :thumbleft:

Fuel cell arrived in Vancouver
Lines marked for cutting
No going back now!
Metal removed
Rust treating
Bada Boom
That's all the pics for now, his camera died. It should be all fitted by new years, mechanical will take a week or 2 more and then it's paint. Should see lots of updates in the next month.

Don't mind the dirty car and camera phone quality pics. This is the progress so far.
MMMMM Widebody!
Some guys leave the gaps between the kit and the door/rear window but I'm having my kit glassed so it will blend in. Should look much better I think. More pics tomorrow.

Re: crzyone's R32 GTR! updates, parts and pics
Opinions needed
Just bought my AEM water/meth injection kit and need input. I want to mount the nozzle just before the intake manifold. I talked to the tuning company that sold it to me and they suggested putting one nozzle at the front of the manifold and one half way down. Their thinking is the first 3 cylinders get most of the water/meth and the rest dont.... This doesn't make sense to me.
The stock R32 GTR intake manifold is a poor design. #5 and 6 cylinders get the most air, the cylinders farthest away from the inlet. Air is rammed down the intake manifold and gets pushed into 5 and 6 so most guys add more fuel to those cylinders to compensate.
So with that thinking, I would think that 5 and 6 would get the most water/meth with only 1 nozzle at the front and would get way too much with a nozzle half way down as well.
Do I make sense? I don't think I will go with their 2 nozzle idea...
Update, all parts are comming together. Bought an Aeromotive A-1000 fuel pump, the Paxton Kamikaze had a crack on the inlet and there are no replacement parts for it. Oh well, the A1000 is a better newer pump that will support 1000hp. There will be a lot of pics and updates in the next few weeks, I will be picking up the car around the 28th of this month.

water vapor will not travel as far as Air will.crzyone wrote:Opinions needed

Re: crzyone's R32 GTR! updates, parts and pics
If anything, atomized droplets of water and alky will have a harder time turning than the air does. I'd guess that the rear cylinders will get more anyway. That's the trouble with a wet manifold.
Snag a set of NOSzles and introduce your water/meth that way, to avoid the cylinder distribution info.
Does anyone know what the cylinder fuel trims actually *should* be?

Why couldn't you set up a rail and do one injector (sprayer) in each runner? The bottom of an RB manifold is smooth isn't it?
Or will a later intake manifold fit? Wasn't it revised on the R34s?

So you are saying the intake will magically separate the water and methanol out of the air?p8ntman442 wrote:

That is my thinking as well, and it's not a bad thing either. Since 5 and 6 tend to run leaner because they get more air I'm thinking getting a bit extra water/meth is a good thing. The Dark Side of Will wrote:If anything, atomized droplets of water and alky will have a harder time turning than the air does. I want to keep it a single fogger, only because it's a whole day job to take an RB26 manifold off and reinstall it. 6 individual injectors would be ideal though.

Re: crzyone's R32 GTR! updates, parts and pics
R34 intake is the same as an R32. There are different aftermarket intakes though. I think I will wait to go with 6 injectors until I buy another intake. Nismo and Greddy both make aftermarket intake manifolds that keep the ITB setup.CincinnatiFiero wrote:Why couldn't you set up a rail and do one injector (sprayer) in each runner? Trunk is comming along. This fuel cell will do for this year but next winter I will buy a fuel cell with a bladder to meet racing rules. I don't want ot cut the floor of my car until that happens so it is mounted a bit high for now.
Should have some new pics in a few days.
