As for the first pic up there, yes, it is the new Caddy S/C. Very compact as the intercooler sits on top of the supercharger. Neat design. The entire unit shouldn't occupy anything in the valley that the non s/c intake doesn't.
Air enters the supercharger through the back of the case, and it forced out the exhaust port of the supercharger. The cobra has the exhaust port on the bottom, the Caddy has it on top. The air goes up through the intercooler and then down the intake runner to the head. The Salleen kit for the new Mustang works this way also. They put superchargers on Northstars. I've never heard of CHRFab doing anything directly with a Fiero. Of course people who buy their stuff can do whatever they please with it.... It's just that most people who can afford a $30,000 engine are not considering putting it into a Fiero.crzyone wrote:chrfab puts superchargers on fieros, don't know how much they charge though. The SC has 2mm smaller bore in order to make the cylinder liners thicker. The block is sand cast closed deck instead of die cast open deck. The bay-to-bay breathing windows inside the crank case are chamfered instead of sharp cornered. There is an extra oil gallery immediately above the crank that supplies piston oil squirters.
The cooling effect from the piston squirters allows GM to run enough extra timing to gain 18 ftlbs of torque.
The engine was originally rated at 440 HP, but under the new SAE rating standard, that climbs to 469. Same engine, same power, just a higher rating.

Finally some progress!!
I don't have access to my car @ the present time (Tomorrow night I will) But, I have seen people turn the intakes on LS1's , can you do this with a N*? That would align the TB a lot closer tot he blower if you were to attempt a Vortech Unit.
This is hard to explain without diagrams , but if you had the inlet pipe go between the cradle and Frame you could duct it up through where the battery box used t be and into the TB. I relocated my batter , so there is enough room where it used to sit to cut a hole and duct a pipe upto the TB.. of course this all hinges on the ability to turn the Intake on the engine.

122 cubes. Prestty good size. The blower is only overdriven 2:1. That can easily be changed for alot more boost. Take a look:whipped wrote:what's the displacement on the 4.4 blower?

I realy am contemplating scrapping the dohc aluminum block project after reading that. Even if I got it perfect, it would never be near what a stock lc3 would be. I estimate the cost of the swaps would be close, excluding the purchase price of the lc3. Im starting to realize that time with my son is worth more to me than time in the shop, and a completed n* swap would be nice to have for a daily driver. Im sure they get decent mileage in a fiero. Has the lc3 been swapped into a fiero yet? Is it even available? I guess if the jy guy ever quits dicking me around and delivers my car and motor, I can get a look at the heads and see which direction to go. I am seriously torn though as of now.
