Fiero ECM in a Camaro

Post by S8n »

I still have the ECM from my Fiero, an '87 2.8 w/ 5 speed. My friends '87 Camaro is giving him all sorts of issues at the moment but all the sensors seem to be reading correctly. Can I just pop my ECM into his car? Or do I need to switch the chips? I haven't worked on stuff this old in a while, help me out here. Thanks.

If its like my Firebird the ECM will be different, the Firebird 2.8 used a Mass Air Flow while the Fiero 2.8 uses Manifold Absolute Pressure.

You can just look for the mass air flow sensor in the intake ducting, as I'm not sure if Camaros are identical to the Firebird in this way.
