Fiero ECM in a Camaro
I still have the ECM from my Fiero, an '87 2.8 w/ 5 speed. My friends '87 Camaro is giving him all sorts of issues at the moment but all the sensors seem to be reading correctly. Can I just pop my ECM into his car? Or do I need to switch the chips? I haven't worked on stuff this old in a while, help me out here. Thanks.
Re: Fiero ECM in a Camaro
If its like my Firebird the ECM will be different, the Firebird 2.8 used a Mass Air Flow while the Fiero 2.8 uses Manifold Absolute Pressure.S8n wrote:I still have the ECM from my Fiero, an '87 2.8 w/ 5 speed. You can just look for the mass air flow sensor in the intake ducting, as I'm not sure if Camaros are identical to the Firebird in this way.
