I fixed this by stopping going to OE old turkey. I may visit in the upcoming months because thats how I keep in touch with the guys I am going to the 25th with, and when I dyno my 87 (estimating 750whp) I'll post results and say hob goblins at the strip kept me in the 12s, and due to a hole in the space time continuum my dyno results will stay under 400whp.
Im with you on the turbo dodge forum stimpy. My omni is not the coolest car around but I have fun with it ha. The only thing I dont like about it is its not too reliable but I guess thats to be expected with any 23 year old car.
Hey guys, could one of you try putting your turbo dodge in a Fiero? Then we'd compare it to the 260-HP Ecotec. Is the dodge trans any stronger than the Getrag? I bet the Mitsu Evo IX (9) if it weren't so unobtainable. -Atilla
I would say one of the strongest transverse manual transmissions has to be the SRT-4 transmission. Lots of 500-600hp cars running around with the stock transmissions. Those motors actually make torque and can run sticky tires that can cut a 1.6 60' time. Makes the transmission that much more amazing.
The Evo has an AWD transmission, I don't think you could adapt it to FWD very easily. Even if you remove the driveshaft it probably won't work properly. I don't know for sure.
Possibly the strongest of all transverse manual transmissions is the NSX 5 speed. Not sure, hard to directly compare all the transmissions because they make different power bands and can be in a FWD or RWD car.
