Poly bushings

Post by befarrer »

I ordered and installed a complete poly suspension bushing kit from Summit over the winter. I also installed springs from an 86 GT with WS6. Is it normal for there to be no give in the front springs? I can push the car down maybe 1/2" with my body weight. The WS6 springs are 1/16" bigger in diameter than the 86 base coupe springs I took off, and I was hitting the bump stops on hard braking with those.

I think its normal. On my 85 GT and my 88 formula I can't push down on the front end much either.

new shocks too?

I have full poly, rear swaybar, good/new shocks/struts and cut stock springs.

If you can push my car down a 1/2 inch, I will give you $500.

Its like a rock.

Ok, so it is normal. That is good.

I have Monroe Sensatracks that are about 4-5 years old on the front and also Sensatracks that are 3 years old on the back.

Konis, dude (although you do get a bit of Coulomb damping from the bushings...)
