Where are all the quick SBC's? Why are all the v6's so much quicker not to mention faster?

What does GrouCHIE have to say about this?

N* Throttle Body, GenV supercharger, 2.65" pulley, ZZP S2 intercooler, XP-Cam, Ported Heads,TOG headers, 3.29 gears, 235/60R15 M/T Drag Radials

Now look at the nissans trap speed. 121 mph.

Now quick question for aarong, If both cars were to race from a roll seeing as traction and launch for both cars is out of the equation, who do you think will win if they were to race to 120 mph?

I'll field this one. :la:

They'd be dead nuts even. From the 660 to 1320' they pulled the same times. Even from 330 to 1320 they pulled the same times.

The unfiero has more power, but not making it to the ground.

3.29:1 gear means auto trans, right? I thought it was 3.33:1. Can anyone clear that up if they're both automatics?

The 4T65E number is 3.29.
Basically, there are three chain ratios. I think they are 37:33, 35:35 and 33:37. The TH125 also had an extremely tall 38:32 chain ratio.

I think there's only one FD ratio for the '65, so the 35:35 yields overal 3.29.

we (GM) is supposed to have a new 6spd out for the 2010 product cycle..not based on anything prior , but will be mated to current gen V6's and 4's , so one can assume the bellhousing pattern may be the same.

Something came across my desk about the Cruise (cobalt replacement)..

Yes auto trans with 3.29 gears, comes stock with 2.92 and you can also get 3.69s.

Thanks! I keep seeing that signature of the silver one with the turbo'd 3800-2 running 12.26 claiming 3.33:1. Oh well.

The chain ratios have been the same since the TH125.

The actual FD reduction goes through subtle changes through the years.

I do believe he is running the 65E-HD now. I could be wrong though.
