The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs

Post by AkursedX »

I saw this a while ago but did not have the background.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dnepropetrovsk_maniacs
The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs (Днепропетровские Маньяки) is the media epithet for the killers responsible for a string of brutal murders in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine in June and July 2007. The case gained additional notoriety due to the fact that the killers made video recordings of some of the murders, with one of the videos leaked to the Internet. Two 19-year-old locals, Viktor Sayenko (Ukr: Віктор Саєнко, Rus: Виктор Саенко) and Igor Suprunyuck (Ukr: Ігор Супрунюк, Rus: Игорь Супрунюк), were arrested and charged with 21 murders.[1] A third co-conspirator, Alexander Hanzha (Ukr: Олександр Ганжа, Rus: Александр Ганжа), is charged with two armed robberies that took place before the murder spree.[2][3] As of December 2008[update], the youths were on trial, with the investigation ongoing.
This video is totally NSFW. It's very disturbing and involves the murder and mutiliation of an innocent man. Click at your own risk.

I really don't have any words for this. I can't fathom what went wrong in these kids live's that would make them have no empathy for other human beings. Not even the most violent of animals kill their own with such rampant violence.

I'm not even going to watch it. Genetic screw ups have been doing horrible things to other people for thousands of years... most of it just doesn't make the news.

Coincidentally, Dnepropetrovsk is where a major component of our launch vehicle is being built.

I'm sticking with Indy... probably shouldn't have watched that. I'm not down with murderers in any way, but I would have so much more respect (not really the word I am looking for, maybe "less disgust") for them if they would have just drug him into the woods, shot him, and had it be the end of it... Take Akursed's and everyone else's warnings if you decide to watch.

This video is disgusting, and you should take it down. I watched a bit of it and closed it. Been thinking about it a little every day since.

Why even post this shit? Can a mod take this down?

This is literally a snuff video posted on a disgusting website.

Unbelievable.

Taken down.

And that video should disturb you. It should disturb you more than anything else you have ever seen. I made it through maybe 5 seconds before I turned it off and have not watched it since. You should be glad that you have empathy for your fellow man and aren't one of these three attackers.

Did you read the story to go along with it? I think people should know that there are people this sick out there in the world. A college professor who I was a teaching assistant sent me the links and we have been having a discussion about the many aspects of it and how rare it is to have a group of three serial killers work in tandem like so. And learning about how they grew up together and participated in sociopathic behavior from a young age together. Normally people who end up like this are social outcasts and have no friends at all. The way these three (who were probably social outcasts) managed to grow up together continuing on with such sociopathic behaviors is quite shocking. Usually groups like this break apart for a number of reasons.

There has also been a debate about what kind of punishment someone like this should receive. The Ukraine has no death penalty. Right now they are seeking life imprisonment for two of them and 15 years hard labor for the other who they claim did not actually kill anyone.

I have listened to some very creative punishments for these people. Some far more disturbing than the crimes they committed. But then who is the better? I actually have a pretty creative suggestion. These people are never going to do any good for society, so why not give them a chance. I'm sure there are all sorts of drugs and treatments for various diseases out there that they would love to test on humans but cannot due to whatever reason. Infect these people with whatever disease and subject them to human testing. If they die? Oh well, no one is going to be heartbroken. But if they can further the development of a drug or a treatment to help save lives, well then at least you get some use out of them. And if they get cured, infect them with someone else and let them do it again.

I saw the Daniel Berg video.... never again.

We had to watch a film yesterday on Dr. Freeman(sp?) who was the "pioneer" in lobotomies in the 40s. Nothing like watching someone taking a hammer and an ice pick to the eye socket.... *shudder*

Thank you.

I went on more of a rant than I usually do but that video was the worst thing I've ever seen. Glad I was smart enough to close it before watching the whole thing.

I actually think the human testing thing wouldn't be a "unfit" punishment for those two... Like you said, worst case, they would be put down, best case, we could hopefully expand our medical knowledge. But, how much medical technology do they actually have there? It would probably benefit everyone to bring some people in from another country, and I don't think anyone would volunteer.

I would also like to add that I think this thread proves that Movies and video games are not entirely responsible for violent behavior. There is just as much gore in movies/video games, but because "you" know it's not really real, (yeah it might still be gross, but not morally hard to watch) you'll sit through it. As soon as the realism hits you in the back of the head, it becomes unbearable, and I think that's a good thing. It shows everyones level of interest in a scary movie or game has its limit.

I don't think I've ever watched that entire movie so I can't relate to that scene... I'm sure everyone has a specific gore that crawls under their skin. I'm not a big fan of anything with a person's eye...

Fuck, I researched it and found one of the vids, tried to watch it, wish I hadn't. I have a strong fucking will and have never turned off a vid before. I read that others had and just thought, "pussy." Fuck man, that is the most depraved shit I've seen. I watched it for about 2-3 mins and had to cut it off. I want to be an RN, so you have to see shit like that with auto accidents, but I think worse than the gross damage to the victim was the constant, depraved stabbing of him after the beating and genral depraved nature. If a person was discovered like that and the discoverers rendered help, I could watch it.

I'm anti DP due to innocent people being executed on rare occassion, but GD it, these fucks just need to be disposed of in short order. I'm attending the serial killer trial every day for the most part as of the last 2 weeks and this fuck killed 8 people and is just lying his ass off, but he would shoot and run, these guys stay around to cherrish the suffering. Fuck me, this is bad and maybe the worst part is that they picked women and disabled men, no one that could snuff their asses. Not to mention the animals. I realize this scum has been around forever, but has it increased? Perhaps not if you look at the rate. I can't help but think economic disparity breeds some of this depravity or at least takes it from hybernation.

I dunno, I guess it's a part of so-called humanity. Funny thing is, the cage you see them in actually protects them, not the others. W/o a hammer and 3:1, they would be puny little punks, 1 man could take all 3 w/o a lot of trouble. These guys make Dahmer look tame.

I think movies and vid games have zero to virtually zero affect. They might have a triggering affect, but the demon has to be there first. Sociopathy is neccessary and I'm not sure it can be learned, I think it's innate.

Exactly. They may make you a better shot or a little more creative, but the anger and lunacy come elsewhere...

Lets see, I have no life. I work eat sleep and play video games. Pretty much every video game I play deals in death and destruction, and yet, I have absolutely zero ambition to go out and kill someone, shoot a plane down, sink a ship or anything like that.
