Adjustable Swaybar

I saw something on a Speed Academy video that you guys might find interesting. Probably old news to the guys who have payed more attention to racing suspension tech, but check out the adjustable swaybar on this Grand Am Corvette:

The compliance of the swaybar is controlled by the orientation of a heavily milled beam that can rotate around a pivot on the bar. Via a control line in the cockpit, the beam can be rotated so that it's either bending in its stiffest direction or in its most flexible. I love it.

I have seen that concept before. Elephant Racing may even have that setup for Porsches available to the general public.

The chassis mounts are outboard of the arms, too, which should significantly increase the mounting stiffness of the bar, as well as making it easier to fabricate for rigid mounting.

And... Holy shit! Look at the size of the bar (well... tube)!
