yes, thats why I am not sure if thats all day or 1/2 day
but, honestly, I dont think I could beat the snot out of my car for a whole day - not like I have a truck load of spring & shock packages to test...

I am definately thinking about doing this. That is really cheap if it is all day long. :) Hopefully I will be able to borrow a trailer since it is a 2 hour drive from my parents house, who have a truck I can borrow.

If not this event, I am going to try to do time attack autox at the Joliet Audobahn Country Club in October.

yes, I'm still working out the towing myself. want to have the confidence to be able to break the car. right now the plan is borrowing a van & renting a car dolly.

ordered some carbomets & new rear rotors for some fresh brakes for the fun
my rear rotors are original, and the backside outter edge is corroded away.

Can't make it, but I was there with the Jetta in the spring. Nice course. You can really get some speed on the two big straights, but turns 11 and 1 like to obliterate brake pads, and tires. There were a couple of guys who completely shredded the outer edges by the time they were done. It's a smooth course too. I guarentee you'll love it.

never been there, but by looking at the track layout the 2 long straights are pretty long. the first one looks like it has a pretty wide turn to carry some good speed to it, then the tight 90 (turn 11), then a 1/4 mile straight, then another tight turn - about 75* (turn 1).
yes, I am sure I will have flat spots from overbraking....
this is why I wanted fresh pads too - I am sure turn 1 & 11 will eat what left of the pads I am at now.

did you get any lap times?

1:45.xxx if I remember correctly was my best lap.

So I just talked to someone at the raceway to find out the prices. Looks like I will be probably going to the 1-5pm one if I get to go. I think that $80 for four hours would be plenty of track time for me. Mark

9am-5pm $150
9am-8:30pm $200
9am-12pm $80
1pm-5pm $80
5:30pm-8:30pm $60

12:00 to 1:00 is a lunch break

@$$holes

Porsche owners are worse than Ferrari owners. Ferrari owners are at least so elitist that they are sufficiently convinced of their own superiority to let other people around them. Porsche enthusiasts are insecure in their elitism and don't want to play with anyone else.

My dad and I took our corvairs to a porche event at putnam park and we got black flagged because we were passing porshes they are so insecure. I was mad and talked to Jim Shart the organizer who has a corvair and he said it was a complement that I was faster and a menis.

well, most "track days" are freindly events, and passing is normally done on straighaways & with a "passie" wave-by.

anyways, I did show up at the track, to see what the porsche guys were up to. only 2 showed up. the fuckers. the was also a vette & a miata. 4 fucking cars. complete shot my plans I had been making, and then not show up.

I guess I should have brought my car, and waited for open track time. but, didnt wanna dolly the car across the state for a "maybe"

anyways I will try again next year.
