just bought a new Samsung HL-R5678W 56" DLP hdtv - 1799 shipped..

can't wait to replace my 27" crt with it

funny that it would take 4 of my current 27" tvs to equal the 56 - in both size and resolution

and a hell of a lot lighter.. the 56" tv on weighs 85lb

i think my single 27" is around 100

If I ever get some money, I'm going to buy one of those projectors. Won't have HDTV resolution, but filling a wall with a picture is awesome x 1,000.

Cheaper too, you can pick up used XGA resolution ones for about 800.

screw 56", I want 10 feet! :la:

We have one that does like 1280x1024. It's very hard to get it to fill the whole wall though; you have to have a HUGE room. We have it hooked up to the PS2 in the rec room, its awesome playing GT4 in HDTV mode.

One of my buddies from college, had a projector. If you've got a good wall, they're pretty bad ass.

Kohburn, congrats on the purchase. My 19 inch CRT is on the way out. At some point I'm going to slurge on something 50+ inches. let us know how your TV works out.
