My new obsession for the week.

Post by Aaron »

I'm really thinking of buying a new car after school, and thus have been running through some ideas. First was the Sky Redline, which would have made it...If I fit in it. But I don't.

So I started having a look at LS1 Camaros/Firebirds.

I'm not a big fan of the WS6s, they are too over the top for me, but I'd be damned to hell if these aren't some AWESOME pics.

I don't like the looks of the maro one bit, but the T/A is fucking hawt; it has to be black though.

Those wheels on the Camaro are hideous.

The second TA has an aftermarket hood.

You think? I really like those.

Kind of. Although that one is, there is a factory hood that is pretty much identical, though rare.

The second on is a Firehawk hood on a TA. Go find a real Firehawk. I had an '02 Z28, 6-speed. Very sweet car, handled well after a few upgrades. EASY to work on.

I remember the old commercials for the TA when they first came out with the new look. It pulled up behind some other car stopped at a red light when it was pitch black out. When the light turned green all you seen was a pile of smoking and on fire parts on the ground where the car was stopped at the red light.

Fucking sweet commercial.

That is not a Firehawk hood, though it looks just like one (Except FH hoods have extractors).

This was another on our look list, but honestly, this is WAYY too over the top.

Not to mention it's a convertible, and GM manages to fuck those up every time. And it's an automatic. And, lastly, it doesn't have the TA spoiler.

There is a yellow convertable WS6 trans am in Westlock that I see every now and again. It is identical to the one above, even the decals I think. The one here in town was a 35th annerversary too.

Uh huh. Never liked those cars one bit. Ever sat in one? It feels like your sitting in a big plastic turd..

If I wanted a car to work on I'd grab a 90's 325 or something..

My brother has a 97 Camaro. It's at least somewhat benign looking being all black, but the carp-faced Camaros just don't do it for me. But that "special edition" is just way too fuggin ugly. I don't understand why Chevy needs to put 50 badges on a car to prove that it has a hot motor in it.

And it DOESN'T have a hot motor in it. At least no hotter than any other LS1 Camaro.

GM COULD have dropped the LS6/385 into the car, and it still would have been slower than the ZO6 Vette, so no threat to the heirarchy.

The LT1 Camaros LOOKED good, but that's about it. The newest generation is better in every way. My Dad said he is just shocked that they were related, he said everything about the LS1 car is just miles ahead of the LT1.
