If you have a hex editor you might be able to just change the first two bytes of the file to fool the sniffer.

There's a freeware one called (what else) HexEdit that works well.

The first little bit of data in a file contains information about what the file actually is.

A hex editor lets you look at the raw data in the file and alter little bits of it. In your case, I would just change the first couple of bytes from 4D 5A to 00 00 and see if that lets you get it through the sniffer.

Have the recipient change those two values back to the original 4D5A and you're done.
