When I heard the pop and louder than normal engine noises I thought I popped a piston... I was glad it was the muffler.
I was "tuning" at the time, changing variables on the laptop when it happened.
I hate tuning.

Well, I finally got excited enough about my fiero to take it down to the carwash and get all the snow off. I also had the blown muffler replaced. It sounds sooo much better than it did before. The old muffler was just rattling away. Here is a tuned Northstar Fiero.
Nice car eh? Glad I never sold it

Why do you think the tach is off? I didn't reline the engine and before I rev it, it's sitting at 900rpm. As far as I know the tach is within one hundred rpms of what it shows on the laptop. Hopefully it will rev even quicker with a dyno tune. Also going to order a spec aluminum flywheel.
CincinnatiFiero, I used Intrax lowering springs to lower the car. The rims are also staggered. 17" in front, 18" in the back.

I thought the tach was off too, as it revved so fast.

Its been so long since I've had a 2.8 powered fiero that I don't remember how fast they rev. 300lb/ft of torque spinning a relativly light flywheel and clutch. When I upgrade to a spec aluminum flywheel I imagine it will be even snappier.

the weird thing about northstars is you could be at 6500rpm and it sounds like 4000rpm.
Don't know why.

I'm sure its the exhaust. I think some equal length headers and thin wall SS pipes would really make it scream.
I think I will end up doing that, sounds too sbc for me.

Another quick reving Northstar, just to show that they are quick reving engines. I'd like to know what he did for exhaust, sounds better than mine.

edit-
Just read on his other youtube videos that he has headers and an aluminum flywheel. Very snappy.
