You don't think it's a Porsche V8? It's hard to see much, but I just figured it was a 928 engine.

It says 5.7L V8, that should be the first clue to the Chevy heritage

Other car makes, make a 5.7L V8 engine. Porsche makes a 5.7L V10 I think (in the Carerra GT)

That's almost as rare as the actual GT1 engine...
I think that the 928 engines started as 4.5L 16V with 220 HP or so and were eventually enlarged to 5.4L 32V with 345 HP. That's a BIG engine for Porsche.
Americans lose sight of the fact that we like big engines and nobody else builds them as big (especially V8's) as we do.
