If you're using Windows, I recommend Winamp. It automatically handles ipods, and its media library functions are far superior IMO.

I can live without the rings for now. I'll be in LA from the 1st to the 15th to swap out the engine.

No kidding. GM, either start making more efficient SUV's, or submit to the real winners. How did America get into this trend of buying these SUV's, and rarely if ever using them off road? What is that? That, is an SUV. Humans ride around in it because they are slowly losing their ability to walk. It...

The right tools and a place to do the work is something I do not have. That is why I have to wait until January, when I trailer the car down to Los Angeles where a friend and I can work on it in his garage.

So, ordered the engine on Monday, and was expecting it this Thursday.

It came today (tuesday). Turns out that it actually shipped from California, instead of Texas. Still have to wait until January to install it.

You need to get hte belt tighter. Its slips when a load is placed on the alternator. Can the belt be 'too tight' ? When I installed the replacement alternator one month before my engine failed, I made it as tight as I could squeeze channellock pliers on the thing. In any case, I'm certain my water ...

Shaun (2), I can't imagine why you would think said engine sucks, but that's not why I was asking. I was simply curious as to if it could be done. I'm not going to go and try it (unless I win the lottery!) This is also the only time I've ever asked about replacing the engine with something non stand...
