This is what happens when you suck at driving
Downshifted way too hard right before I entered a turn while already doing some mad braking. The rear wheels locked up and I spun out. Won't be doing that again. It didn't help that my rear swaybar is too stiff for my car and it oversteers like mad in steady state.

I have now disconnected the rear swaybar so it corners proper now (I used to have to get on the gas right away entering a turn!). I also match the revs properly with teh gas pedal when I downshift now. Stayin' alive!
PS: Doesn't this motor sound bitchin'?

I rode out with Steven on Highway 25 Monday on his way back out to LA. We did a little roll, but we never got a good dragrace going. The walkie talkie that I gave Steven to let him know where I wanted to do it wasn't working right and celphhones don't work out there, so while I was trying to get him to stop, he was blazing down the road at 100!
:afrocool:
The roll was from about 60 to 80 I think. He downshifted and dipped, then I cracked some throttle and walked him. He said he had it floored, I still had some pedal.
PS, I sent you a vid from my phone of me wearing the new off of my 245's. I got my coilovers yesterday, so more meat in the backend. Thought I'd continue the hijack.

What kind of bar do you have?Series8217 wrote:It didn't help that my rear swaybar is too stiff for my car and it oversteers like mad in steady state.
Bolt a block of wood to your gas pedal so that you can heel-toe.I also match the revs properly with teh gas pedal when I downshift now.

Re: This is what happens when you suck at driving
Just stole one off a Formula at the junkyard. I have polyurethane bushings and endlinks on both the front and rear bars. Basically the whole Formula running gear but it still oversteers like mad. I think its just because of the significantly higher center of gravity of my motor combined with the shitty roll center due to the car being lowered... must be getting a ridiculous amount of weight transfer. With the swaybar disconnected now it feels different even going around turns at a fairly low speed. Any ideas on why my car would behave so differently from a Formula if its not because of the heavier motor and lowering? The Dark Side of Will wrote:What kind of bar do you have?Series8217 wrote:It didn't help that my rear swaybar is too stiff for my car and it oversteers like mad in steady state.
That could work, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the idea. I usually make a crude attempt at heel-toeing as it is but its pretty much impossible since that gas pedal is so low.Bolt a block of wood to your gas pedal so that you can heel-toe.Series8217 wrote:I also match the revs properly with teh gas pedal when I downshift now.
