On that note,

My tranny went south. I've still got all four gears and reverse, but there's major clunking and obvious mechanical binding. At first I thought it was a synchro pack, but now I'm not so sure. I think it's the final drive now.

I was already planning to pull the motor this winter because I didn't like the way the transmission sounded from day one.

I'll post pics when I drop the motor out because I want everyone's opinion on whether or not it's torque related. Unfortunately, but it's not going to happen for at least another month or so.

Why?

V8Archie said the tranny is more than strong enough to handle even a built SBC :scratch:
