Dyno Tuesday, Predictions?
My Fiero finally hits the dyno on Tuesday to get tuned. Putting it on a trailer and hauling it to the dyno in Edmonton. AFI Performance will be doing the tune. They work with the BS3 ecu, alot of domestics use this computer, especially LS1s.
Any predictions on power output?
I will be happy with anything above 260whp. Not aiming too high so maybe I'll be surprised. Car is running 91 octane fuel in it so we can advance the timing a little more agressive than factory. Going to be tricky though with no knock sensor.
Only mods are a free flow intake and a pretty good dual 2.5"exhaust system. Motor is an 03 Northstar for those that don't know.

We have a winner!!!!jelly2m8 wrote:180 HP if you get on one of those rigged V8 fiero dyno's............... :rotflmao:
Sorry, couldn't resist!
175whp. For some reason my 2 left front cylinders are not firing. Will have to diagnose and go back. Not bad for a 6 banger....
This puts me in 4.9 and 3.4dohc territory.
Going to make sure the injectors are getting signal, make sure I'm getting spark and check and see if the injectors are flowing like they should. Who knows, maybe the BS3 is the problem?

They didn't say the BS3 is the problem, but with the problems I've been having with it I would not rule it out.
Could be clogged injectors or who knows, didn't stick around for them to work on my car. They couldn't even get an rpm signal for my motor to see what kind of torque it was making.
I have a few things to do before I go back.

Wire up one of the ignition signals from the ECM (or maybe the tach signal) to an external connector. They *should* be able to change the inductive pickup that they normally use on a plug wire to a mating connector to get the ignition pickup.
(4/3) * 175 = 233... still got a bunch of tuning ahead of you.

How did you know it was those 2 cylinders? Was it running fine before? Surely you noticed a gnarly sound coming out of your engine if you were missing on 2 cylinders? :scratch:crzyone wrote: 175whp. Pull the ignition coil, throw some screws in the plug sockets, and crank it to check for spark on all 4 coils.
My guess is you probably have bad wiring to your coil packs. Swapped wire maybe?
If that checks out, swap the injectors to the other bank and see if the dead cylinders follow. N* injectors are notorious for being shitty. I don't know about 2000+ though, I think they use different injectors from the <99.
