It would be nice to have a Coke that didn't have corn syrup in it.
Canadian Coca Cola tastes way better, no High Fructose Corn Suryp. Just good ol' sugar.
I used to bring my own cola down to nevada when visiting the inlaws and having them see the difference. Everyone liked the Canadian coke better.
why? they outlaw corn syrup? And I wonder why they don't do that here... I know around christmas they have kosher coke, but I personally have never seen it. Seems like if it cost $0.10 more, they could just tack that on the price. I'd pay that if it tastes better. Hell, I'd pay $0.11!
They'd have to use maple syrup here, and it just wouldnt taste right.
I never knew they used corn syrup for soft drinks in the states. That remidnds me, I am going to go pour myself a nice glass of Compliments Coke, that cost .79, and has no corn syrup in it right now. :thumbleft:
The original Coca cola recipe obviously had cocaine in it. Some southern congressman said cocaine was "causing the negroes to go crazy and beat and rape white women". So then they had a vote and outlawed cocaine and the rest is history. I think at that point it was still okay to prescribe cocaine for various ailments, it just couldn't be put in any OTC "cure-alls" or tonics.
