Wow, good read, thanks for posting. I'll stick with Mobil 1
I 100% beleive this. I have yet to drain bad looking synth. the longest I dared let it go was 10k. with 1 filter change along the way.

I use and will always use Mobil 1. The results I saw with my Z34 alone were worth it. Never before had I not heard the lifters on my 3.4 DOHC, they were always clickity clacking. Put the Mobil 1 in a few weeks after buying it, and it was silent. The only time they clicked was RIGHT AFTEr startup, a...

I like the Mobil 1 too. and, like others above - I have no reason to pick it over other synth's. I dont like the idea of "blends". I guess Royal Purple & Castrol are as good or better. not sure how anything can be "better" when it comes to synth oil. I have yet to drain out s...

I'm getting it now, thanks guys. So what is the purpose of adding a catch can and why is it so popular? the catch can is to catch the oil thats in the air its sucking out of the engine. the air is real oily, and thats the goo that builds up in the intake, along with the EGR gasses. usually the catc...

yes yes. psi is pressure, not volume.
volume makes the HP's
just like a good intake will LOWER your boost, and yet you make more power.

porting can do wonders for a badly casted ports. just plain old gasket matching can open flow up a good 10%. a fine balancing job is nice too. and the 3.4 DOHC is supposedly "detuned" at the cams somewhat too. so yes, a "stock" 3.4 DOHC motor, just cleaned up & put back toget...

Re: DOhC turbo VS 3800SC

i thought id seen a post about it before, but i couldnt find it so... just curious as to how a turbo/intercooled DOHC would stack up against a 3800SC say a 3800SC II with ported exhaust, 42#/255lph fuel, cam, intercooled VS (same basic mods) 94-95 3.4 DOHC turbo, intercooled, 42#/255lph fuel, 13* t...

that should work out great. I've seen simelar routes used by people putting turbo's in. kinda sucks having to "zig-zag" the exhaust, but, it's better than going around the whole dang cradle

are there any FWD 4.3 vehicles?
FWD is what makes a swap reasonable.
not saying you cant do it. anything is possible.
I suppose you could go longitude mount w/Toronado trans, since your already out of the box - keep going

from what I saw, it looks like the easy way to go is the classic pressure plates against the spiders. I do like the thing one company does, with a angled arm on the sides of the plates, so when the plates twist (when the diff is slipping), the angled arm starts to striaghten & push even harder a...

arrived - spider gears deffinately have signs of being run for a while low on oil.. yup - thats why I asked if you cared about the spiders before I sent it. the trans that came out of was really beat down. :puke: the 1-2 syncho was bent, the speedo sender leaked, the ring gear & 1st gear look m...

You guys are starting to sound like OE. The point is that we want ABS on the car. I don't want to get into a whole discussion into why, we just do. Plus, if we are happy with the system, I'd like to move it to a Fiero eventually. The car is slated to be a 69 Camaro, and will have full Corvette C5 f...

trying to picture what "adjustments" there could be on an ABS system? would an ABS controller be concerned about front/rear bias? I guess it would have to...in the front are locking, and it needs to realease them, I suppose its gotta loosen the rears up somewhat also, to keep the bias....o...

no, it should be fine. the speedo gearings is AFTER the ring & pinion, so it is reading actual axle speed. so, it will read the same in a 4.10 or 3.65 or 3.32 - so, I gues slike Kohburn said - if it was right before, it right now....
